Pregelatinized starch is prepared
from Maize starch by mechanical
processing in presence of
water,with or without heat,to
rupture all or part of the starch
granules and subsequent drying.It
contains no added substances but
it may be modified to render it
compressible and to improve its
flow characteristics.
It is mainly used as pharma
excipient. In pharma excipient
applications, it can be used for
direct compression formulations
as a binder, disintegrant, flow
aid and self lubricantt. It is
made in 300000 grade clean room
under the GMP rules, so it is in
high quality and can conform
CP2005, USP27 and BP2001 etc.
