Specs:25kg/barrel Price:Negotiable USD Metric Tons Pectin is a natural polysaccharide that is found in the cell walls of higher plants where it plays a structural and defence role and also helps to maintain the plant’s water balance system (hence its value as a colloidal substance). Naturally, pectin occurs in the form of insoluble protopectin that cannot be extracted by non-degradative methods and it is generally considered to be the most structurally complex polysaccharide in the cell wall. The amount, structure and chemical composition of pectin varies between difference plant sources, within different parts of the plant and also on a seasonal basis. Fruits and vegetables are a particularly rich source of pectin. Most commercial pectin is produced from the pomace, peels and chips that result from other processing industries. FRUITSET pectins from Teejoy are sourced from orange. |
