We supply Aloe Vera Herbal ProductsIf ever there was a magical plant, Aloe Vera is it! Aloe Vera has a proven reputation as one of the few true healing plants. Tests inexplicably show that Aloe Vera does indeed directly aid tissue regeneration. For this reason, Aloe Vera is increasingly being used as a key ingredient for many skin care products.

There are over 300 different species of Aloe. Many of these are simply common house plants. However, some grow into gigantic trees with trunk diameters ranging from 3 to 6 feet. Aloe Vera is a member of the Lily family. It is steeped in history and is even mentioned in the Bible. Aloe Vera is almost cactus like in apperance and many believe the plant originated in the warm climates of sandy Africa. African folk law says that many tribes made villagers bath in an enthusion of Aloe in cases where illness was becoming an epidemic. Records also indicate that Aloe Vera was used for a wide assortment of ailments by people in Egypt, India and Arabia.

The mucilaginous gel from the parenchymatous cells in the leaf pulp of Aloe vera has been used since early times for a host of curative purposes. The Aloe Vera gel should be distinguished clearly from the bitter yellow exudate originating from the bundle sheath cells, which is used for its purgative effects. Aloe vera gel has come to play a prominent role as a contemporary folk remedy. Modern clinical use of the Aloe Vera gell began in the 1930s, with reports of successful treatment of X-ray and radium burns. The reports of these Aloe Vera experiments and the numerous favourable case histories unfortunately did not give conclusive evidence, since although positive results were usually described, much of the work suffered from insufficiently large test samples. With the recent resurgence of interest in Aloe Vera gel, however, new experimental work has indicated distinct physiological effects. Chemical analysis has shown Aloe Vera gel to contain various carbohydrate polymers, notably either glucomannans or pectic acid, along with a range of other important organic and inorganic components.

Starting over 50 years ago, Aloe Vera gel was being processed and marketed as a drink product. Today the industry is flourishing and the Aloe Vera gel is being used in many products such as fresh Aloe Vera gel, juice, and other formulations for health, medical, and cosmetic purposes. As aloe marketing increases, many more people are purchasing creams, ointments, juices, and even facial tissue and shampoo containing Aloe Vera gel.

Because of Aloe Vera gel抯reputation as a folk remedy for burns and wounds, some people keep one or more plants readily available at home. Indeed Aloe Vera is easy to grow and harvest yourself

Aloe Vera has also been given an Award of Garden Merit (AGM), which is for plants of outstanding excellence.

Indication : Lowers blood sugar and used as laxative.

The Aloe vera plant has a long history of use for its healing properties. The plants large bladelike leaves are the source of the Aloe gel. Aloe is available in both a topical and oral (drinkable) forms. However, it has a very bitter taste that is difficult to get people to drink.

A recent study has shown that aloe vera may alter DNA in a manner that is helpful for people with Cancer.
