Acme Synthetic Chemicals was established in 1970. Acme is the pioneer in the manufacture of Chromatographic Adsorbents like Silica Gel and Aluminium Oxide. Acme developed Chromatographic grade adsorbents as an import sustitute and started manufacturing and supplying to the Indian and export market in 1970. Later Acme developed a form of Silica Gel used as a slip agent in polymers, again an import substitute. Acme also developed technology for the manufacture of High Purity Lipid chemicals (of 99+% purity). During the course of development of these products Acme built up a very well equipped R & D lab and gained considerable expertise in research and development of manufacturing technologies. Sensing the winds of change Acme enlarged the focus from import substitution to developing products with good export potential. A search for products with good export potential led Acme to Castor Oil derivatives. India is the largest producer and also exporter of Castor Oil in the world. This gives a price/ logistical advantage to manufacturers of products based on Castor Oil. Acme standardised technology for the Cracking of Castor Oil. Acme started exporting Undecylenic Acid and selling Heptaldehyde locally. Today it has a manufacturing set-up of 250 tons of undecylenic Acid per annum. Its Undecylenic Acid is exported all over the world both in Drums and Iso Tanks. Acme has established a track record of supplying quality products at fair prices, on time. Later Acme developed technology for the manufacture of Perfumery Chemicals such as C-11 Aldehyde, C-11 Alcohol and C-14 Aldehyde of international quality. All these products use Undecylenic Acid as a starting raw material. Right now Acme's R & D team is working on developing world class manufacturing technologies for the downstream products of Undecylenic Acid and Heptaldehyde, all of which have a very good export market. |
