Nippon Aluminum Alkyls, Ltd.(NAA) was established in 1968 to produce and sell aluminum alkyls. In 1968, NAA completed construction of a plant on a part of the site of Mitsui Chemicals, Inc(MCI) in Osaka which was later acquired by NAA and began operation in 1970. Since then, NAA has contributed to the development of the petrochemical industry by providing customers worldwide with high-quality aluminum alkyls.
Albemarle Corporation, the world's leading supplier of organometallics and new catalysts, acquired a 50% share in NAA in March 1997, and 50% share continues to be held by MCI.
