V贠S a.s. is one of the largest Czech firms dealing with research and development in the field of organic chemistry and toxicology. The applied research and development of chemical technologies have belonged among the most significant activities of the Institute for more than 50 years, and their results affected a number of branches of Czech industry. Looking into the history, we can come down to 1941, when the Company for Chemical and Metallurgical Production founded research laboratories in the then newly built chemical factory in Rybitv. Ten years later, Research Institute of General Chemistry was created, and on 1.1.1952 the Research Institute of Organic Syntheses subordinated to Ministry of Chemical Industry and later to Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
