Laboratorios Argenol
Laboratorios Argenol S. L. was founded in 1939.
The main activity for Argenol has been the sale of silver related products for the pharmaceutical industry, such as: Colloidal Silver, Silver Proteinate, Argyrol, Targesin.
Some other products, based on the antibacterial properties of the Colloidal Silver deposited onto inorganic inert substrates were manufactured (they were used in the productuion of water filters). Silver Iodide used in cloud seeding activities, was also produced.
The company had a very limited business during those years in which it was a sideactivity for its owners and without special interest in an important development of the firm.
In 1989 a new group of investors joined the company with the intention to develop its activities. New personnel was recruited and other projects started. Tannic Acid derivates, such as Albumin Tannate, Tannaform, Diacetyltannate were developed.
In 1992 Silver Sullfadiazine was added to the list of products manufactured.
In 1993 a new division of Argenol was created focused on the developing of conductive silver preparations, silver powderes and silver flakes for the Electronics and Glass Industry.
The main activity of the company is still the manufacture of fine chemicals for the pharmaceutical industry. The facility has been inspected and considered acceptable by the US FDA.
In 1997 a new factory (located in Pinseque (Zaragoza, Spain) with a surface of 3.000 square meters) has been built and has entered in production during the first quarter of 1998, it has site to expand in new activities. The production of this new factory includes Methocarbamol, Dyprophylline and Guaifenesi.
