Manuel Vilaseca
The Firm MANUEL VILASECA, S.A. was founded in December 1922 by Mr. Manuel Vilaseca Segal閟 (25.02.1902 - 11.02.1982) to sell dyes. From the beginning and till 1941 he operated, together with his father Mr. Juan Vilaseca Asquasciati, under MANUEL VILASECA Y CIA., turning then into MANUEL VILASECA from 1941 till 1964 It was in December 1964 when the firm changed into MANUEL VILASECA, S.A.
The manufacturing premises were sited in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, in the northeast boundary of Barcelona, till mid 1951. After this date, some new premises were built up in the Industrial Estate of M髍a la Nova, in Comarca de Ribera d'Ebre, where, besides the much greater quantity of water obtainable from own wells, it exists there the most important railway line, Port-Bou - Madrid, in the Spanish territory. Plants were afterwards transferred to the new premises and it was in late 1982 when the old factory of Santa Coloma de Gramenet was definetively closed. Since 1982 Mr. Manuel Vilaseca i Fructuoso is the President of the Company.The primary business of the company is the selling of synthetic organic dyestuffs, as well as different intermediates, to a wide range of industries including Food, Paper, Leather, Phenolic Moulding Powder, Inks, Wood, Acrylic Fibers, etc., having continually intensified its efforts in the development of these manufactures, with own laboratories to perform Customer Service, Quality Control tests and assistance for all the industries we serve, being nowadays the only enterprise in this field having a capital and technology of its own in the area of the Comunitat Aut髇oma de Catalunya Autonomic Community of Catalonia.The commercialitation of the dyestuffs and intermediates being produced is directly carried out by the same firm, either in Spain or in the European Union, being also important the sales to third countries in all continents. About 50% of the production is for export purposes, out of which an 80% is for the European Union.
It is to emphasize the awards having been granted to the firm during all these near 75 years of being in the market, as they are for instance the Export Award granted by the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Barcelona in 1968, Export Leader in 1976, International Award to Export in 1977 and Knowlwdgement Plaque for the contimuous and fruitful collaboration in favour of the Economic and Commercial Devolopment between Spain and the extinct U.S.S.R. in 1989.
