Brotherton Speciality Products was founded in 1878 and today still operates from its original site in Wakefield, Yorkshire. From its earliest beginnings Brotherton has always specialised in the manufacture of ammonia salts. Over the years the product range has been broadened, whilst at the same time maintaining a key position in ammonia salts. The Company is now a major supplier internationally, to a broad range of diverse industries.
Brotherton has grown substantially over the last 20 years and progress will continue through investment in and development of its core technologies. The Company places a strong emphasis on the quality of its products and services, of which adherence to the Corporate Policies and ISO 9001:2000 is an integral part.
In 1984 Brotherton became a subsidiary of Church & Dwight Co., Inc. USA, the world's leading producer of sodium bicarbonate and other speciality carbonates for industry. Today, Brotherton markets the ARMEX and ARM & HAMMER Industrial Cleaning Products throughout Europe.
