CVC Specialty Chemicals, Inc. has been creating and manufacturing specialty epoxy resins for two decades. CVC has grown from little more than an office and modest laboratory to a worldwide specialist in niche epoxies. CVC's mission is to respond to the diverse demands of coatings and adhesive formulators for specialty raw materials. CVC succeeds by concentrating on niche epoxies tailored to the needs of these formulators. In 1991, CVC seized the opportunity to integrate manufacturing into the business with the acquisition of the specialty epoxy resin product line from CL Industries of Georgetown, Illinois. CVC grew to become the leading US producer of substituted urea accelerators for curing agents with the acquisition of Omicron Chemical's substituted urea line in 1995. Broader manufacturing and R&D capabilities were made possible in 1996 by the purchase and expansion of the 35,000 square foot AKZO Chemical plant in Maple Shade, New Jersey. The Maple Shade plant has undergone three expansions since its initial startup to consolidate and enhance its administrative and R&D efforts and to add specialized equipment for the introduction of new specialty epoxies for various industries and applications. Plant expansion over the last few years has also supported the production of specialized urea catalysts for the composite industry, as well as adding manufacturing capabilities for a new line of epoxy resins. Included in these capabilities are equipment for the production of specialty solid epoxies for adhesive and composite applications and a new computer-controlled batch continuous reactor complex for the manufacture of specialty glycidyl derivatives. In 2004, CVC relocated its corporate headquarters to Moorestown, NJ. The facility is home to CVC's administrative offices, customer service and research and development personnel. The addition of state of the art computer and laboratory technology will support the company's efforts to provide faster and more efficient response time to customers' needs. CVC produces over 60 materials used in products for the paint, adhesive, construction and aerospace industries. It also manufactures bonding and sealing compounds utilized by the electronic and automotive industries. It is well represented by an international network of industry leading sales representatives. CVC's commitment to research and technical support is evident with 25% of the company's personnel devoted to research and technical support. |
