Corporate Profile
Adchem Corporation was founded by Joseph Pufahl in 1965, and currently has $40 million in annual revenues. Adchem manufactures a complete line of adhesive tape systems, including double-coated papers, films, tissues, foams and fabrics; transfer tapes; single-coated products, and other custom-coated specialty products. Their solvent-free adhesives, solvent acrylics, solvent rubber adhesives, and emulsions are used in many different industries, including transportation, appliance, electronic, and medical. Adchem's adhesive tape products are designed for fastening, bonding, laminating, mounting, holding, splicing and virtually any adhesive-mounting application. In addition, Adchem offers the advantages of many complementing capabilities, including custom product development, slitting, sheeting, and custom coating.
Adchem Corporation maintains certification by TUV Management Service to ISO 9001 Series quality standards, confirming that Adchem maintains a consistent and independently verified method of managing its quality processes. Adchem has also attained accreditation from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), as per requirement of ISO/IEC 17025-1999. A2LA recognizes Adchem as being technically competent in the use of the test methods listed in the Scope of Accreditation. Customers using Adchem products can be certain that they are manufactured following certified ISO quality system standards. With the internal development of a common set of manufacturing and related procedures, Adchem now ensures that its quality management systems continue to meet these standards.
Adchem recently completed the addition of over 90,000 square feet to our manufacturing and office facilities in Riverhead, New York. The totally integrated, 155,000 square foot plant streamlines Adchem's operations-and improves our ability to meet the needs of existing customers-by enabling the consolidation of most Adchem operations to a single facility. This includes all mixing and slitting operations, most coating operations, administration, customer service, sales, marketing, and other support services. The consolidation has increased Adchem's output capacity by 30%, and provides our customers with quicker deliveries and greater product consistency.
A new, high-speed, multiple-coating station, closed-loop coater has been added to the expanded facility. It features a 65" wide web coater with turret unwinds and rewinds, a new oven design and a beta gauge to measure adhesive thickness. For each job, up to 30 different variables are set and recorded, including motor speeds, impingement velocities, web and roll laminating pressures, oven zone temperatures, gauges, tensions, and roll diameters. This allows repeat processes under the same conditions every time, ensuring maximum product consistency with less waste, and the capability to process larger rolls (50" in diameter and 65" wide) than before.
