Mueller Steam Specialty
Mueller Steam Specialty started in the early 1900's in New York City as a small specialty manufacturer servicing the valve industry. In 1955, the company began manufacturing pipeline strainers. Since then, the company and its product offering have expanded dramatically. The company relocated to North Carolina in 1972 and, due to continued growth, moved again in 1992 to our new and larger facility in St. Pauls, North Carolina. We now have over 300,000 square feet of manufacturing space devoted to our product lines and ISO 9001 certification. In addition to a full range of pipeline and specialty strainers, the company now manufactures a line of check valves, butterfly valves and plug valves.
In 2001, Mueller Steam Specialty became a part of the SPX Corporation. A $5 billion dollar global provider, SPX has operations in 34 countries and is a multi-industry company, offering technical products and systems, industrial products and services, flow technology and service solutions.
Now integrated into SPX's flow technology business segment, Mueller Steam has become part of SPX Valves & Controls. SPX Corporation has created SPX Valves & Controls by combining the strength, resources and powerful product presence of Mueller Steam Specialty, DeZurik, Copes-Vulcan, Daniel Valve, Febco, Polyjet and K-Flo. With the union of these individually strong companies, SPX Valves & Controls is a driving force and a global leader in the market for flow control solutions.
