We manufacture and market chlorine, caustic soda and several related downstream water treatment products. Our strategically located production facilities set us apart from other suppliers. We are the only chlor-alkali producer in North America with a plant in each quadrant which permit us to have the shortest delivery to each of our marketplaces.
Our strategic plant locations take advantage of inexpensive hydroelectric power for sixty percent of our total requirements. This gives us a significant cost advantage.
We have our headquarters in Houston, Texas. As well as being the center for the functional management of the Company, this office is also the central location for sales support services for US based customers.
At Pioneer we take seriously our responsibility to operate safely, with due respect for the health of our employees and the environment. It is our license to operate. Pioneer is a member of the Chemicals Manufacturers Association (CMA) and, in January 2000, was verified by CMA as having met the stringent requirements of the CMA Responsible Care Program. In fact our environmental, health and safety (EH&S) meetings were cited as an industry "example of excellence" by CMA.
Our Houston office is currently preparing for registration under ISO 9002.
