LUANDA (January 30, 2004)桾he Energy Services Division of Nalco Company (Nalco) announced that it has signed an agreement to partner with PROPETROL- Servi鏾s Petroliferos, Limitada, an Angolan company established in 1996, to form a new venture. The venture will operate as Nalco Angola and will provide oilfield and refining process chemicals and on-site service.
The new venture will absorb Nalco's existing infrastructure and in-country manufacturing and will build and operate a second 4,600 square meter laboratory, manufacturing facility and distribution center in Soyo. This will improve and expand the supply of specialty chemicals and services to the Angolan and West African offshore marketplace.
"For more than 20 years, Nalco has proven to be a proactive partner to Angola's oil industry. In 1992, we began manufacturing our products in-country and throughout we have invested aggressively in training and developing our local employees. This venture represents the next step in Nalco's well tenured, value driven history within the region. It consolidates our presence in the area and will create numerous new jobs in Angola," said Mark Bosanko, Energy Services Division President, Nalco Company.
