Robert Walsh, Arthur Schmidt, and George Claytor formed Walsh & Associates, Inc. in 1968. The three St. Louis businessmen bought out the small chemical distributorship where they were employed. Several of the suppliers who were with the original distributorship moved over to Walsh & Associates, Inc. and became our first suppliers.

    In 1969, under the guidance of Robert Walsh's oldest son, Tim, the first branch of Walsh & Associates, Inc. was opened in Kansas City, Missouri. Since then, the company has expanded greatly. The Denver, Colorado branch was opened in 1980; Memphis, Tennessee in 1985; Nashville, Tennessee in 1992; Salt Lake City, Utah in 1994; and Dallas, Texas in 2003.

    Today, Walsh & Associates, Inc. represents many suppliers including Akzo Nobel, Burgess, Burlington, CB Mills, Chemia, Degussa, DuPont, Elementis, ExxonMobil, Ferro, General Electric, Hayward, Huntsman, MeadWestvaco, Novant, Noveon, Resolution Performance Products, Rhodia, Ropak, Sartomer, Specialty Minerals, Stepan, Strainrite, US Can, and World Minerals to mention just a few.
