Adhesives Specialists was incorporated September 1983. S. M. Russo, President and CEO, started manufacturing in a small Patterson, New Jersey factory, with the idea of servicing the shopping bag and packaging industries. With a background in polymer chemistry (MA) and MBA in marketing, Mr. Russo was able to grow the company to over forty employees. Over the years, the demand for Adhesives Specialists?products had surpassed production capabilities resulting in the need for a larger manufacturing facility.

    In 1988, Adhesives Specialists moved its headquarters to Union, New Jersey. The manufacturing facility was 32,000 sq. ft. with a section designated for corporate offices and a laboratory. Within three years, this new location was operating at full capacity. A team was developed to research methods to decrease production time and increase maximum finished goods output. Although successful, the team was not able to keep up with demand.

    In 1994, Adhesives Specialists, once again moved it抯corporate headquarters to Allentown, Pennsylvania. The new manufacturing facility is 50,000 sq. ft. and incorporates R&D and laboratory facilities with the corporate offices. By centralizing operations, Adhesives Specialists is now able manufacture and deliver their adhesives in a more timely fashion than most competitors. In addition, there are twenty shipping docks available which speed up inbound raw material deliveries as well as outbound customer deliveries.
