    Two names personify the beginnings of Schill + Seilacher: Christoph Seilacher and Karl Schill. Today more than 600 committed personal guarantee the future of the Schill + Seilacher group. In 1877 Christoph Seilacher founded together with his brother-in-law Karl Schill a small factory in Heilbronn (Germany), producing chemicals for leather processing.

    1925

    Half a century later the small business had grown tremendously and was serving customers all over the world and due to this increasing export business Schill + Seilacher moved to Hamburg in 1925. After the destruction of the Hamburg factory during the last world war the company took over a small factory close to Stuttgart and with the head office in Stuttgart began to rebuild the company. At the same time as the Hamburg production facilities were being rebuilt, an additional factory was purpose-built in B鯾lingen. Since then the two companies work independently from each other as they serve different industrial segments.

    1979

    Continuously the group increased production and exports of their chemical specialities. Step by step new product lines (like recently the latex additives) have been developed. In 1979 the Struktol Company of America was founded in Stow (Ohio). This company produces and develops products for the North American market. Today Schill + Seilacher products are used world-wide covering the needs of the leather and fibre industries, rubber and latex industries, and the textile and paper industries.
