Kim Chemicals Limited, Bombay (India) is a closely held limited Company, incorporated in 1983, engaged in the manufacture of following petroleum specialty products at its most modern refinery/factory situated at Taloja, about 60 kms from Bombay:

    Having achieved world class expertise in the manufacture of Petroleum Jellies and Liquid Paraffin's, Kim Chemicals Ltd. ventured into consumer market in 1994 with the introduction of Sofskin brand White Petroleum Jelly IP/BP/USP identical to Vaseline of Chesbrough Pond's Inc. Over the course of following 6 years, till 2000, the company introduced more variety and in wide packs sizes viz. 10/25/40/100/225/368 gms plastic jars and 10 gms plastic tube (LipGuard). The company offers Sofskin in Pure/White (odourless) and coloured-perfumed varieties, called Pomade and Brilliantine, and Baby Jelly (extra soft).

    More products such as, All Purpose Lubricating oil in dropper plastic bottle of 50/100 ml, Sofskin Hair Tonic 100/200 ml identical to Vaseline's (Ponds) Hair Tonic. Gummy-Gum (synthetic) in 30 ml. plastic tube and 5 sizes of wax Candles have been recently introduced by the Company, which have been received well by consumers in India and other countries.

    The Company has in-house R&D centre to conduct in-depth trials of new products before commercial launch.As a result.we developed an intensive winter care cream for Indian army for use by its personnel in high altitude facing hostile sub zero temperature,as low as (-) 30 degrees celsius. Our Company was awarded 2 contracts cumulatively valued US$1.52 millions (Rs.660/- lakhs) in a span of 6 months during the year 99-2000, subsequent to Indo Pak Kargil conflict.
