Uses

Mainly used as a solvent, such as a large amount of ink, can also replace the lower boiling point of ethanol as a solvent, and has a special effect in the solvent of polyamide inks for printing and dyeing plastic films. It is also used for chromatographic analysis. As an intermediate, it is mainly used to make n-propylamine. Propyl ester, propionamide, etc.

Fire-fighting measures

Its vapor and air can form an explosive mixture, which can cause combustion and explosion when exposed to open flames and high heat energy. Contact with oxidant will cause chemical reaction or cause combustion. Its vapor is heavier than air and can spread to a considerable distance in a lower place, and will ignite when it encounters a fire source. Keep the fire container cool by spraying water until the fire is over. Use alcohol-resistant foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, and sand to extinguish the fire.

Emergency treatment

Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and rinse the skin thoroughly with soap and water.

Eye contact: Lift the eyelid and rinse with running water or saline. Seek medical attention.

Inhalation: quickly leave the scene to a place with fresh air. Keep the airway open. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration immediately. Seek medical attention.

Ingestion: Drink enough warm water to induce vomiting. Gastric lavage. Seek medical attention.

Packaging, storage, transportation

Packed in iron drum or plastic drum, 160kg/iron drum, 800kg/IBC drum, stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The storage temperature should not exceed 30℃. Keep the container tightly closed. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, halogens, and edible chemicals, and avoid mixed storage. Use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. It is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools that easily generate sparks. The storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and suitable storage materials.
