The Environment and Process Business Area has a strong focus on sewage sludge dewatering and drying. Its product range covers the entire spectrum of technologies for mechanical and thermal treatment of sludge from municipal and industrial sewage treatment plants. The Business Area handles all design fabrication, installation and start-up work including the entire automation and safety equipment for complete sludge. The Andritz Group is a global market leader for systems for mechanical and thermal sludge treatment.

    Industrial process technology is another important sector for the Business Area. Andritz supplies filtration systems (hyperbaric drum and disc filters as well as vacuum filters of different types) especially for coal and ore suspensions. In addition, Andritz addresses applications in the pigment and filler industry.

    With the acquisition of the Bird-Humboldt decanter and R+B filter press business Andritz now has further access to chemical and petrochemical markets with a broad portfolio of products to offer.

    The Business Area's extensive product portfolio in the industrial and municipal solid/liquid separation is supplemented by a large range of screens, sieves and filters, offering Andritz customers several technical solutions for almost all applications.
