We possess valuable experiences from numerous projects, which we have carried out successfully all over the world. Our advanced technology is based on the special know-how derived from far more than 450 supplied and successfully commissioned plants. Moreover, in return of a constant and innovative further development of our processes, we can offer exceptionally economical, reliable, and environmentally compatible plants and processes.

Josef Meissner company was established in 1926 as a partnership company by Mr. Josef Meissner. The company's first process has been developed for the continuous manufacture of Nitroglycerine, today well known as the 'Schmid-Meissner-Process'. In parallel to setting up a team of capable chemists and engineers, the know-how has been extended step by step to new processes in the explosives' field, and later on also to processes for the manufacture of the starting materials and chemical intermediates for explosives and other related chemicals.

In succession to the founder Josef Meissner, his sons Mr. Heribert Meissner as engineer, and Dr. Fritz Meissner as graduated chemist, took over the management of the company and pursued a further development of the know-how, which was reflected by several patented processes.

In 1964 the re-establishment of the company in the form of a limited partnership company, Josef Meissner GmbH & Co., took place. Until today, the shares of the company still remain unchanged in the family's possession, now in the third generation. The company is managed today by Dr. Rolf Meissner (share holder and managing director) together with Dr. Paul Schleicher (managing director).

A highly trained and committed team of abt. 65 permanent employees in a sound mixture of experienced and young people cope with the manifold tasks ensuing from the research and development in the company's own laboratories, the engineering of the plants in the technical department, and the commercial handling of the procurement and shipping of the equipment. By additional employment of task force teams of freelance collaborators, Meissner is able to respond very flexible to the special requirements during execution of large-scale projects with extremely tight time schedules.
